You must remember that you have what you need to feel better....

Last week I had the beautiful opportunity to attend the healing circle at Sat Nam Yoga in Chicago. It was such an amazing experience. I was surrounded by the most wonderful local healers, met guests who shared their experiences with me, and ate tasty treats. I held space for both reiki and meditation. To be honest, I had no idea that I would feel the impact of helping others heal as much as I did.

As a practitioner, I sometimes wonder how much I am helping. I find this in my music therapy studies as well. Every time my curiosity peaks, someone or something reminds me that I am making an impact. That said, I want you to recognize that we all have the capacity to heal ourselves. Whether it is with food, energy work, or mindfulness.... take a moment to think about how often you simply stop and listen to your body.

After a hectic day on my weekly commutes, I find myself pausing to hear my own heartbeat. It really slows me down, and more often than not, helps me to avoid the post-afternoon-OMG-I'm-too-busy fatigue headache. This is my challenge to you. In between picking up the kids from school, figuring out what to make for dinner, and remembering to reply to that last email.... be sure to take time daily and PAAAAUUUUSE. Your body, mind, and soul will thank you.
